Dr Karen Pettigrew graduated from the University of Glasgow in 2006 with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery and continued further postgraduate training which saw her admitted as a Member of the Faculty of Dental Surgery with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow in 2008. Shortly after she relocated to Cairns to take up a post with QLD Health before moving into private practice.
Karen has been committed to improving the oral health of her patients in Cairns for the past 10 years and is passionate to continue to do so. She has also provided clinical supervision to JCU Dental students for more than 5 years before returning to complete her Graduate Diploma in Dental Implantology in 2017. She is proud to hold a membership with the Australian Dental Association, Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow, Australian Society of Implant Dentistry and International Congress of Oral Implantologists.
Karen is committed to further professional development and education to enable her to deliver the best possible care to her patients. She enjoys all aspects of dentistry and is particularly passionate about acclimatisation of children and anxious patients. Her kind and gentle nature help to make patients feel at ease and comfortable in her care. Karen serves as the current ADA-FNQ branch President 2019-2020.
